Jonathan Osland is a film and television industry production safety leader committed to engaging all team members in a progressive culture of safety. As part of his current role Jonathan runs our Vigilant Canada team and is engaged in the development and mentorship of our entire Vigilant production safety team.

Most recently, Jonathan built and managed a progressive and high functioning team of Production Safety professionals covering the globe for Netflix.  Jonathan and his team advised on projects with a wide range of scope and scale in North America, Asia, South America, and New Zealand.

His experience and understanding of the many compartmentalized yet interdependent pieces of the production puzzle make him an asset to any team committed to a safe and efficient project. Jonathan excels in collaboration, balancing the creative needs of a project and the requirements of outside resources or agencies.

Jonathan’s specialized skill set—including special effects, stunts, aerial photography, and safety rescue systems highlight his versatility, his knowledge, and comfort working in challenging environments. He is comfortable in almost all environments ranging from the high alpine and deserts of remote locations to large scale sound stages and industrial sites.

When Jonathan is not at work he is hiking, reading, or kicking the soccer ball with his two young girls.  You may also find him training for and racing events like the UNBOUND 200mi gravel bike race in Kansas which he competed in June of 2022.  And he is a gleeful member of the dawn patrol when the waves are on.
